If you love horses, as Jill does, and hate to see them badly let down by people, there are lots of ways you can help.

  • Spread the word among friends and colleagues and ask them to look out for any equines in need of help. It is a legal requirement that the owner has to sign ownership over to us, we can't just take them, but alert us to the problem and we will do what we can. Contact Jill direct by phone or email or through the enquiries email, details are on our contact page.

  • Attend one of our events, aimed at horse owners and riders, such as lessons, clinics, training days, all aimed at raising funds. Keep an eye on the News and Events page.

  • Offer a loan home to a horse or pony needing a new start. Be prepared to have it home checked and your experience evaluated - it is in no-ones interest for you to take a horse or pony you can't easily cope with, but it is better for them to be in a loving home than a sanctuary, however good.

  • Fund raise - run it by us first, but costs are spiralling, of vets bills, medication, feed and supplements, so if you have an idea to raise some funds we would love you to.

  • Sponsor a resident - you will be sent a certificate and then kept in touch by quarterly updates, and of course will be welcome to visit whenever you wish. Sponsorship is by monthly payments, starting at just £5 per month, slightly more than the cost of fish and chips! If your sponsored horse is found a loan home, you will be offered either the chance of another or to cease your payments.

  • Sponsor some or all of our feed costs, or buy feed in for us.

  • Ask local businesses to sponsor us with a monthly sum (or supply their product if it something we can use). We will receipt it for their accounts and add a link to their website, expressing our gratitude.

  • Have a collecting tin in a prominent place for us

  • Collect all your loose change and donate it from time to time

  • We no longer have scope to accept volunteers, there is at best 2 hours work in the mornings and another hour in the evenings, so realistically it isn't worth people spending their hard earned money on getting here.

  • Donate your unwanted items of tack and rugs. Those we don't use we will sell to raise much needed funds - it helps if rugs are not filthy and smelly, because at times we sell them on ebay and they may have to be posted.

  • If you are in need of rugs etc, check out what we have on the Items for Sale page. As a spare in case of expensive ones needing repair, or just to rug a temporary resident at your stables, they are from £5 upwards generally. Ask if we have the size/type/weight you need.

  • Or just make a donation. Cheques made out to Jill Allsopp and sent to her at Riva House, Mill Green, Hinstock TF9 2SS, or make a donation via Paypal, using Jill's email address to identify the account (see the contacts page). Alternatively you could visit, meet the residents and donate at the stables.
